Recipient of nine national awards for her work, Dr. Banta has consulted with faculty and administrators in 47 states, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates on the topic of outcomes assessment and has given invited addresses on this topic at national conferences in Australia, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Lebanon, New Zealand, Scotland, and Spain. She has developed and coordinated 26 national assessment conferences in the U.S. and 15 international conferences held in Australia, Austria, England, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Scotland, South Africa, and the United States.

Banta has written or edited 18 published volumes on assessment, contributed 28 chapters to other published works, and written more than 200 articles and reports. She is the founding editor of Assessment Update, a bi-monthly periodical published since 1989 by Jossey-Bass and winner of a national award for overall excellence in 2003.

 

ROBERT READY

Ready's Centre is responsible for academic staff development, making a vigorous contribution to the institutional quality enhancement effort. Under his leadership, CeLT has developed a unique 'three-pronged' approach, bringing together curriculum consultancy; formal staff development and leadership in the application of learning technologies. It is on the basis of this blend of experience that his team achieves leverage regarding institutional assessment.

Ready is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the U.K., the body responsible for the U.K. Professional Standards Framework. He also belongs to the Heads of Educational Development Group in the U.K., an important national forum for policy development within the higher education sector.

He has spoken about his work across the U.K. and at international conferences in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Portugal, Finland and Luxembourg.

Earlier in his career he was responsible for institutional e-learning development; has been a teacher educator in Singapore, and before that, he taught communications in a vocational setting for ten years.
