Frequently Asked Questions About the Accreditation Standards

7. Is it true that a faculty member can lose qualification?

Yes, as stated in the standards, "classification as academically or professionally qualified may be lost if there is no evidence of faculty development, intellectual contributions, or current professional experience relevant to the teaching field within the five-year period preceding the accreditation review."

Modern management and business are changing rapidly. Faculty members must show that they engage in activities to maintain their intellectual capital. While these activities may take any of several forms, faculty members must show that they are active in their field to maintain qualification.
