Frequently Asked Questions About the Accreditation Standards

13. Who makes the accreditation decision, the Peer Review Team, the Accreditation Committee, or the AACSB International Board of Directors?

Only the peer review team can make a recommendation for an accreditation decision. It is the peer review team that has the most information and has been to the campus for first-hand experience with the school. When questions of process or consistency arise, the Accreditation Committee or Board may remand the recommendation back for further consideration. However, the Committee and Board are not able to change the recommendation. Recommendations only can come from the team. If the team's recommendation is questioned, you will be contacted to provide further information or clarification or so that you will understand what questions have been raised.
