Frequently Asked Questions About the Accreditation Standards

10. If a school is making changes in programs while in the accreditation review process, will that cause problems for accreditation?

An orientation to continuous improvement means that AACSB accreditation reviewers assume schools are always in the process of making changes. Programs evolve to meet shifting markets and missions. That means changes per se are not a problem. If the changes are being made to introduce missing features required by accreditation standards, there might be problems. Accreditation expectations hold the school responsible to be accreditable during the self-evaluation phase of review, as well as during peer review.
