Purpose
The Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) oversees the processes related to Initial Business Accreditation to ensure consistency in the application of the standards, and equity of recommendations across Peer Review Teams and programs reviewed. The committee reviews and, if appropriate, accepts Standards Alignment Plans forwarded by the PreAccreditation Committee (PAC), monitors the implementation of the accreditation process and oversees the initial accreditation process including the development of the self-evaluation documents and the peer review team visit.

Structure
The Initial Accreditation Committee is comprised of a minimum of nine members and a maximum of 18 members, plus a chair appointed by the Board Vice Chair-Chair Elect. One member of the committee will be chosen by the Board Vice Chair-Chair Elect to serve as Vice Chair of the committee. The chair is a business or accounting administrator from an AACSB-accredited institution. Committee members may be present and former business and accounting administrators from AACSB-accredited institutions, as well as faculty members from accredited institutions and corporate executives.
