Nancy Bagranoff has been Professor of Accounting and Dean of the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond since 2010. Prior to her current appointment, she served as Professor of Accounting and Dean of the College of Business and Public Administration at Old Dominion University. Dr. Bagranoff has taught at several universities, including American University, George Mason University, and Miami University. She has co-authored many books and both academic and professional journal articles in the area of accounting information systems, consulting, and information technology audit and control.
Dean Bagranoff has extensive volunteer academic and professional service experience. She has been President of the American Accounting Association, Chair of the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, and Chair of the Economics Club of Hampton Roads. She has served as a member of the Accounting Accreditation Committee of the AACSB, presented at AACSB conferences, and has been a member of and led several AACSB Peer Review Teams. Dr. Bagranoff currently serves as Chair of the Cook Prize Committee of the American Accounting Association, is a member of the AICPA Executive Education Committee, and is a member of TowneBank Richmond’s Board of Directors. She recently completed a term as the only academic member of the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Dean Bagranoff has received recognition for teaching, scholarship, service, and leadership. Her community awards include recognition as an Influential Woman of Virginia and a YWCA Woman of Distinction. She also received a Women in Business Achievement award from Inside Business. Dr. Bagranoff received teaching and administrative service awards at American University. While Dean at Old Dominion University, she was named J. Worth Pickering Administrator of the Year.
