Media Rankings
BusinessWeek
Overview: BusinessWeek
has been ranking full-time MBA programs every two years since 1988, when it introduced the first rankings of business programs. Executive MBA programs and
executive programs (non-degree) also are ranked separately. Although BusinessWeek
does not rank part-time MBA programs, profiles of such programs are provided on
its website. Beginning in 2006, BusinessWeek
will rank undergraduate business programs in the United States.

Summary of Methodology:
Full-time MBA programs
This ranking is based on surveys of graduating full-time MBA students and recruiters. Each is
weighted 45 percent. The remaining 10 percent claims to measure intellectual
capital, which is based on article length in a small set of academic journals
and the reach of books published by faculty.
Executive MBA programs
Surveys of recent graduates are weighted 65 percent in the most recent survey.
To arrive at the student score, results from most recent survey are weighted 50
percent and each of the previous two surveys are weighted 25 percent. Executive
MBA program directors are surveyed to measure reputation for the
remaining 35 percent of the ranking formula. More

Undergraduate programs
The ranking formula consists
of five parts: student survey(30%), recruiter survey(20%), graduate starting
salaries (10 %), a measure of top MBA feeder schools (10%) and indicators of
program quality (30%).
